Visit Isle of Wight

Say YES to visiting the Isle of Wight!

Only 10 minutes off the South Coast by hovercraft, the Isle of Wight is a dream destination for a family holiday.  With the most sunshine hours in Britain, 25 beaches, and over 50 attractions, the Island is bursting with activities and attractions that appeal to all ages!

At only 23 miles long, everything is close at hand – the excellent transport network on the Island means you can leave the car at home – and there’s loads to do for free, as well as special offers all year round.

Say YES to Action-Packed Activities!

With more than half the Island an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, it’s the perfect backdrop for being outdoors. Bring your bikes (or hire them) to whizz along 200+ miles of cycle tracks, byways, and bridleways, all with spectacular views. Or explore the 500 miles of woodland trails, clifftop walks, and beachside rambles by foot – with lots of pram and wheelchair-accessible options, and not too far for little legs!

Kids can burn off energy running around safe sandy beaches, trying exhilarating water sports, going horse-riding, tree climbing, or having a fun day out with their grandparents at one of the many exciting indoor and outdoor attractions.

Say YES to Wildlife Spotting!

As an UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, there is an abundance of wildlife on the Island, including white-tailed sea eagles, red squirrels, rare butterflies, and moths. With over 200 species of birds recorded each year, hours can be spent wildlife spotting at Newtown Nature Reserve, Borthwood Copse, Hersey Nature Reserve and Culver Downs.

Say YES to Time Travel!

Every corner of the Island has relics from its rich history. Budding historians can explore castles and palaces, experience a roman villa, and enjoy some fun museums. As the Dinosaur Capital of the UK, the whole family will be blown away by the fossilised dinosaur footprints on Brook beach!

Say YES to Stargazing!

With very little light pollution and one of the darkest skies in Britain, the Island is a great spot to admire the velvety sky as twinkling stars appear. Check out the best stargazing viewpoints here.

Say YES to Fuss-Free Mealtimes!

With 450 independent cafes, bars, pubs, and restaurants on the Island to choose from, serving a wealth of delicious local produce, there’s something to appeal to everyone!  There’s an excellent range of family-orientated eateries with indoor kids’ corners and outdoor playgrounds to enjoy, and the spectacular scenery on the Island is perfect for family picnics.

Say YES to Accommodation for every Budget!

There is an amazing range of over 500 places to stay, with something for every season. From holiday parks, campsites, and quaint thatched cottages by the sea. Many allow dogs too, so your four-legged friend can be included in the holiday photos!

Say YES to Exciting Events!

With year-round festivals, a variety of theatres, and a buzzing events calendar, you’ll always find entertainment on the Island!
