About Army Flying Museum
Immerse yourself in the fascinating story of British Army aviation by visiting one of Test Valley’s hidden gems. Conveniently situated between Andover and Salisbury, the Museum is located adjacent to the historic Army Air Corps airfield at Middle Wallop. This attraction is the perfect choice not only for aviation fans of all ages, but also for those with an interest in history and families looking for a hands-on fun day out. All admissions come with a free annual pass, so visitors only need to pay once to have access to the Museum for a full year.
Exhibits
Two large hangars house the Museum’s impressive collection and visitors are frequently met with surprise at the volume of artefacts, medals and over thirty fixed wing and rotary aircraft. The exhibits include an Apache AH Mk.1, making the Museum the only place in Europe that visitors are able to see this impressive airframe. The 1940’s house display is a popular feature taking many visitors on a trip down memory lane.
Hands-on Activities at Army Flying Museum
The Museum cleverly combines imaginative displays with clever use of interactives and video. Visitors can sit inside the Scout and Lynx helicopters and visit the ‘Explore the Apache’ display, to find out everything about this iconic aircraft through films and audio recordings, with special touch screens to ask three soldiers about their experiences of flying and working on an Apache.
Artefacts
In addition to the aircraft, the Museum also features a variety of artefacts including medals from British soldiers. With collections that include the Royal Engineers, The Royal Flying Corps, The Glider Pilot Regiment and of course, the current Army Air Corps, there is plenty to find out and explore.
Things to do for families at Army Flying Museum

Café
Visitors can visit the café at the Museum without an entry ticket and can enjoy a tasty selection of food, drinks and homemade cakes whilst overlooking the airfield and seeing the many flights taking place including the impressive Apache and Chinook helicopters.
