In need of some family fun days out for the little adventurers to enjoy during the summer holidays? We’ve got you covered! There is so much fun going on at Hampshire’s Top Attractions! The Festival of Hampshire’s Top Attractions will run throughout the whole of July and August which will include a huge number of events at all the attractions, fun giveaways and competitions with amazing prizes to be won and so much more! Start planning your days out at the attractions for the whole family to enjoy, keep reading to find out more!

Don’t miss out on a range of fantastic summer fun on the Isle of Wight – feel the Summer Fest! vibes at Blackgang Chine, soak up the atmosphere at the world-famous sailing event of Cowes Week, or spend quality time in the sunshine the Island is famous for, it promises to be THE place to be this summer.

Head to Winchester Science Centre during the summer holidays with the kids and enjoy a splash-tastic sound journey beneath the surface of the world’s oceans in a brand new free live science show, Underwater Agents! There’s something for all ages and interests to enjoy there, zoom through the summer night skies in the Planetarium, explore nature in Bio:Space. and adventure through the interactive science exhibits!

Have you heard? Join Thomas & Friends at the Watercress Line this summer (7th – 15th August). NEW for 2021, Rusty & Dusty outdoor entertainment show with The Fat Controller and Diesel, Toad and Duck, as well as an extended ride with Thomas! Booking is essential.

Visit the Army Flying Museum for Summer Holiday fun, including craft activities, crazy science displays, face painting and the chance to have a go in a flight simulator. All activities are included in the Museum admission price. Pay once and come back as often as you like for 12 months, how amazing!

Gilbert White’s House & Gardens not only has plenty to see and do over the Summer Holidays. Whether it is enjoying 25 acres of garden and parkland, learning more about the natural world with activities and workshops or exploring Gilbert White’s House and the fascinating Oates Collections. 

Driving Experiences are BACK at Thruxton and adults and Juniors (from 8 years old) can drive. Get on track in a range of supercars, sports cars and racing cars. Learn to control a sliding car on the Skid Pan. Get muddy and push a Land Rover to the limit on the 4×4 off-road course. Race wheel to wheel with your family and friends on the outdoor kart circuit. There’s something for every petrolhead!


This summer get playful at Beaulieu at their new magical adventure play area Little Beaulieu, and explore playthings of the past with the new exhibition ‘Motoring in Miniature – the Toys of Your Childhood’. There’s so much to see and do for all the family, together.

Step back in time at Butser Ancient Farm, learn ancient skills and discover how people in pre-history used to live through hands-on activities for the whole family. Butser will also be building a Bronze Age Roundhouse over the summer – watch the progress and prehistoric building techniques in action! 

Head to the Isle of Wight for SummerFest! From 28th July – 28th August, Blackgang Chine will be bringing the party vibes back, every Wednesday and Saturday with a LIVE DJ, foam cannons and lasers, all your favourite characters to boogie with and their famous firework finale to end the night! 

Looking for a treat for your nature-loving youngsters this summer? Let them meet the Hawk Conservancy Trust’s adorable and cheeky team of Burrowing Owls in a VIP Meet the Burrowers VIP Encounter, or perhaps they’d enjoy an extra special Children’s Owl Experience or Young Falconer’s Experience.

Calshot Activities Centre offers a wide range of exciting water and land-based activities, for all abilities and ages. Inside the hangar try new experiences such as climbing, velodrome track cycling and much more. Outside, we have several water sport activities you can enjoy too! This summer Wonderful Wednesdays return to the Brickworks Museum! Every Wednesday during the school summer holidays the museum will be hosting hands-on family sessions including arts, crafts and clay. Admission fees apply, check their website for what’s on and when! 

Head to Houghton Lodge Gardens this summer holiday and enjoy a fun-filled family day out! Head for a day out exploring and adventuring around the 14 acres of beautiful gardens, discover 120 different variations of roses, a huge pear tree and a breathing dragon! Take a pit stop at the tearoom and admire the views of the River Test!

If you missed the Isle of Wight’s hot air balloon extravaganza in May at Robin Hill, don’t panic! They’ll be gliding back to the park from August 20th – 22nd for part two of Sky High Night Glow 2021. Experience a jam-packed programme culminating in the awe-inspiring Night Glow Finale every night! Robin Hill is also hosting the Isle of Wight’s most explosive outdoor show! Brainiac Live! will perform twice daily on selected dates from 29th July – 28th August!
