Have you heard about all the fun that is happening at Hampshire’s Top Attractions throughout August? There’s some seriously fun days planned for the month that you won’t want to miss out on! Whether it’s a day out for the family, a date night or a day of fun with friends, there is something for everyone to enjoy!

A summer of sound, science and stars awaits at Winchester Science Centre. Come on a splash-tastic sound journey beneath the surface of the world’s oceans in a brand new free live science show, Underwater Agents. Zoom through the summer night skies in the Planetarium. Explore nature in Bio:Space. And adventure through the interactive science exhibits.  

Meet Little Red Riding Hood and the Three Funky Pigs on the 13th August, then fall down the rabbit hole with Alice’s Adventure’s in Wonderland on the 22nd August for great family friendly outdoor theatre at Gilbert White’s House & Gardens.

Unleash your inner wild explorer at Marwell Zoo! Enjoy 140 acres of lush green spaces while learning about hundreds of exotic and endangered animals. Giraffes, tigers, a sloth, lemurs and more, there’s a whole animal kingdom waiting for you! By visiting, you’ll also be supporting their vital conservation work.

Join Thomas & Friends at the Watercress Line this summer (7th – 15th August). NEW for 2021, Rusty & Dusty outdoor entertainment show with The Fat Controller and Diesel, Toad and Duck, as well as an extended ride with Thomas! Booking is essential.

Thruxton Circuit near Andover, will welcome the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) to the fastest circuit in the UK for two days, 28/29 August, of pulsating racing action. Spectators are in for a treat as the stars of the BTCC battle it out on track. Bravery and commitment are rewarded around Thruxton’s high-speed sweeping corners – the ultimate test for both driver and car.

New Forest Activities are ‘kitted up’ and ready for a summer of fun, with Canoeing & Kayaking sessions on the picturesque Beaulieu River. Bask in the sun as you spot the wildlife on your choice of boat, or take to their archery range and try your luck at a bullseye!

The Beaulieu Supercar Weekend returns on the 7th – 8th August, bringing some of the world’s most exclusive and desirable motors to Beaulieu. It is a must for all supercar enthusiasts, providing an opportunity to get almost close enough to touch these impressive motors!

Beyond the Barricade – the UK’s longest running Musical Theatre Concert Tour – heads to Theatre Royal Winchester on Sunday 29 August. The show features past principal performers from Les Miserables and delivers over two hours of the best of Broadway and West End musical hits.

The best way to explore our beautiful, historic cities is on a Text Quest. From gentle strolls to thrilling mysteries, we have something for all tastes and all ages.

Take the family on safari with the Hawk Conservancy Trust this August. Your guide will transport you to the Savannah, where you’ll experience a spectacle of African birds of prey showing their aerial antics and there’ll be tales of native wildlife brought to life with theatre, music and special effects.

Head back in time at Butser Ancient Farm, each day of the summer holidays you can experience hands-on history and learn traditional crafts and skills as you explore their timeline of homes from the Stone Age to the Saxons. Plus on selected dates meet ancient re-enactors, from Romans to Vikings bringing the past to life.

Wonderful Wednesday Family activities return to the Brickworks Museum this August with drop-in craft sessions, train rides and an opportunity to meet a real bus. There is also a Museum in Steam event all about wheels on August 22nd.
