Are you ready for lots of adventure this April? With April just around the corner and events booking up fast, now is the perfect time to start looking at what’s on in April at attractions in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. Hampshire’s Top Attractions is booming with lots of fun-tastic events and activities for the whole family! Keep reading to find out what’s on in April!

For one day only…

One for the adults – Geoff Norcott brings his brand-new show ‘I Blame The Parents’ to New Theatre Royal on 2nd April. He will mostly explore personal responsibility, parenting, and who should take the blame when things go wrong. Be prepared for a hilarious evening out!

Itchen Valley Country Park is busy during April: a sponsored dog walk for the Mountbatten Hospice on the 2nd and this year’s Photography Competition starts on the 9th. Easter holidays include activities for children and there is a Spring Herbal Walk & Talk on the 30th for the adults. 

Exciting April activities for families at The D-Day Story. On 9th April Find out how you would survive as a child growing up in WW2 an energetic, fact-filled show. On 15th and 16th April meet the wartime people that made D-Day a success, including a Major General responsible for a series of ‘funny’ tanks.

On 10th April, in partnership with The BRICK People, a team of LEGO builders and SeaCity Museum is hosting lots of LEGO building activities, character-led museum tours, and family activities, 110 years after RMS Titanic set sail from Southampton. 

Direct from their hit ITV series, Sooty, Sweep and Soo and TV’s Richard Cadell head to Theatre Royal Winchester on Monday 11 April with their impossible tricks and sidesplitting jokes. Be astounded at Sooty’s flying car, Soo’s singing unicorn and Sweep’s levitating sausage! A spectacular treat for the whole family – including a chance to meet Richard and Sooty after the show! 

Find out about the amphibians and reptiles you might find in your garden with experts from the Amphibian and Reptile Conservation Trust at Gilbert White’s House & Gardens on the 23rd April. Meet some live creatures and see what you can find living in the museum’s pond!

The Brickworks Museum’s first steam-up event of the year is on April 24th – join them as they wake the site from its winter slumber. Featuring traction engines, craft stalls, children’s activities, and train rides for a small extra fee which goes towards to upkeep of the trains and rails.

Treat yourself to learning a new skill this Easter on an ancient crafts workshop at Butser Ancient Farm. Choose from drum-making, Saxon cooking, flintknapping, or jewellry making all in the beautiful setting of the farm’s ancient buildings.

Get outside with the family and discover the woodland tree house, run along the board walks and climb the hill top adventures obstacle course at Sir Harold Hillier Gardens. Why not try Pond Dipping, Bushcraft and Archaeology session are running throughout Easter too. Booking is essential.

MAST Mayflower Studios has a wide variety of shows in April. Some include contemporary dance, theatre production of A Tale Of Two Cities, the side-splitting stand-up show Sam Avery: Role Model, and escape to Treasure Island with Le Navet Bete and their swashbuckling, smash-hit comedy for all the family!

Visit the Mayflower Theatre until 2 April, where Bourne’s trademark wit and magical fantasy, Nutcracker! follows Clara’s journey through a shimmering, ice-skating wonderland to the scrumptious candy kingdom of Sweetieland, influenced by the lavish Hollywood musicals of the 1930’s.

With stars from The London Palladium Alexandra Burke, Jason Donovan and Jac Yarrow – Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat arrives for one week only 19 – 23 April 2022
