With the announcement of the roadmap easing lockdown restrictions we are sure you’re all feeling just as hopeful as we are that a sense of normality is just around the corner! One of those being… some fun days out! Many of our attractions have started announcing their reopening plans, keep reading to find out what you can do this April at Hampshire’s Top Attractions!
If you want to enjoy the Hampshire countryside then you need a visit to Chawton House. Take a stroll in the beautiful grounds to enjoy the Walled Garden, shrubbery walk, and wilderness; walk in the historic Parkland and stop off by the Tea Shed for a hot drink and cake.
The beautiful Exbury Gardens open for the season 29th March and you can hop on board the Steam Railway from 12th April. Enjoy a family visit to the 200 acres of woodland gardens and enjoy the views of the seasonal flowers! The gardens are wheelchair accessible and dog-friendly meaning all guests are accommodated.
Looking for a more exciting and adrenaline-fuelled day out? Visit Paultons Park from 12th April and experience Tornado Springs for the very first time! This brand-new themed world features 8 exciting new rides and experiences including a spinning rollercoaster, gyro swing ride, and a driving school attraction!
The Watercress Line will be reopening on 12th April! Plan a family visit to ride on a steam train, play in their brand new playground and visit the footbridge used in the Harry Potter films! Children under 5 years go FREE, making it perfect for a family day out!
The Beaulieu National Motor Museum attraction grounds and gardens will reopen to local visitors from Monday 29th March! This will include access to the grounds, gardens, and wider parkland including Little Beaulieu, their adventure play space. Visitors will be able to purchase takeaway food and drinks from the Brabazon Restaurant & Café.
If you have been missing the zoo as much as we have, you will be happy to hear that Marwell Zoo is very hopeful that they will be able to reopen from 12th April subject to the guidance at the time, please check their website and social media for all the latest updates! For all you adventurers, explorers, and adrenaline junkies New Forest Activities is reopening again to household bubbles from 29th March and they are looking to open fully from 12th April! Be sure to visit them for a fun-filled day of thrilling outdoor activities!
If you have been missing those days out to an amusement park, then you will be over the moon to hear that one of the South coast’s largest amusement parks, Clarence Pier plans to reopen the park on Monday 12th April following the recent advice given by the government.
The New Forest Wildlife Park is delighted to open the gates on April 12th 10.00am! Lockdown has been tough for everyone and the animals have missed having company especially the otters. There are fabulous new signs everywhere designed by a member of staff.
The outdoor spaces at the historic village of Buckler’s Hard are reopening to local visitors from 29th March. One of the most peaceful locations in the New Forest, it’s a perfect place to relax. Grab a hot drink from the takeaway food outlet and settle down to watch the boats on the Beaulieu River.
The birds and staff are raring to go at the Hawk Conservancy Trust, for when they open on Monday 12 April. Get your family outside for a full day out with a nature adrenaline rush as you marvel at the Trust’s three world-class flying displays!

Whitchurch Silk Mill is thrilled to be opening their outdoor Riverside Café and Mill Shop from the 12th April back up to visitors and the Mill will be able to open again from the 17th May. The Silk Mill makes a great trip for the whole family with lots to see!
Now that we are allowed out and about, a Text Quest is a great way to explore our beautiful cities. We have great reviews and the word that we hear most is ‘FUN’.
