Have you got your fun-filled family days out planned yet? Not to worry… Hampshire’s Top Attractions have most certainly got you covered with a month full of a variety of amazing events and activities for the whole family to enjoy! With the easing of covid restrictions, we will see all our attractions reopened by the end of June, which means you and the family can head back to your favourite attraction!

Kick off summer with New Forest Activities! Dive into the different water activities that the entire family will enjoy. If you prefer fun activities on land, hire a bike to explore The New Forest, get your hands on a bow & arrow or learn bushcraft skills. Whatever you’re looking for, New Forest Activities are sure to have an adventure that will get your adrenaline pumping! 

The fascinating Milestones Museum is reopening on 21st May for a great day out. As well as old favourites like their vintage vehicles, sweet shop, and café, you can visit the all-new Mr. Simpson’s Teddy Bear Museum! If you’re looking for a relaxing and fun family day out or you know someone who loves gardening then Gilbert White’s House & gardens annual gardening event is back on the 19th & 20th June 2021! The perfect event for gardeners with a stall full of plants and garden accessories, great food, great gardening advice, and a chance to see Gilbert White’s Garden included in the admission price! 

Take a trip to Marwell Zoo this June for an adventure! Learn about hundreds of exotic and endangered animals while exploring 140 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds. By visiting, you’ll be supporting their charity and vital conservation work. Plus, don’t forget to keep an eye out for adorable new arrivals!

From the 24th – 25th June, the Winchester Cathedral stonemasons will be running a course to introduce people to the ancient craft of masonry. Everybody is welcome to join and learn the basic techniques of stone carving. In addition, The London Concertante, one of the finest chamber ensembles in Europe, will be performing Vivaldi’s Four Seasons by candlelight at Winchester Cathedral on Monday 28th June.  

Take a walk on the wild side at the Army Flying Museum this Summer Half Term and discover some aircraft named after animals around the Museum. Pick your favourite and create a colourful bookmark to take home with you. Book your tickets now! 

Jane Austen’s House is open! Discover new displays on Jane Austen on Holiday, visit the newly refreshed Gift Shop, and enjoy the stunning roses in the beautiful cottage garden.  Make a day of it, pack a picnic and explore the village parkland and play area, opposite the house.

Join Thomas & Friends for a day of family fun at The Watercress Line. Take a train ride with Thomas, meet some of your favourite characters including The Fat Controller, and join Sodor Station Sweepers Rusty & Dusty for a trainload of excitement!

Super sleuths in training can dig into the facts about how sound is created in nature in a brand new free live science show, Sound Detectives at Winchester Science Centre! Don’t miss the magic of the UK’s largest standalone Planetarium, nature activities in the indoor/outdoor Bio:Space zone, and the brand new interactive sound and hearing exhibition. 

Step back in time at Butser Ancient Farm, discover the recently unveiled Stone Age house, see their Bronze Age Roundhouse build in progress, and meet living history interpreters bringing the past to life. Butser is currently open for pre-booked visitors during school holidays and weekends.

Plan a special evening out this summer enjoying the best of nature with the Hawk Conservancy Trust. Their Sky Hunters at Sunset event gives you the magical opportunity to witness their birds soar as the sun sets gently behind them. You’ll see falcons, vultures, owls, and kites, at this special time of day!

Thruxton Circuit will step back in time and reverberate to the sound of the finest historic and classic motor racing in the country for the annual Thruxton Historic. Now an annual event since 2018 as part of Thruxton’s 50th Anniversary celebrations, the two-day meeting brings legendary machines and racers to the fastest race circuit in the UK for an adrenaline rush like no other. Away from the racing, there will be a host of family-friendly activities including car displays, demonstrations, circuit rides, live entertainment, camping, trade village, and much more.

Join an adventurous young girl and her seafaring father as they reimagine the story of a tiny snail’s incredible trip around the world, inspired by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s much-loved picture book. Watch Snail and the Whale at Theatre Royal Winchester 18th – 20th June.

TripAdvisor’s ‘No1 Thing to Do in Southampton’ Steamship Shieldhall commences her 2021 sailing programme with a trip down Southampton Water to the Solent on Sat 26 June. Guests can enjoy a full commentary on the history of Southampton Water and visit Shieldhall’s Engine Room and Bridge.
