On the 15th February at Gilbert White’s House & Gardens (picture above), children can delve into the exhibition on Frank Oates, a naturalist who explored Southern Africa, by attending the storytelling session, getting creative with African bead making and discovering the artefacts that Frank brought back in the object handling session.

Calling all junior detectives to Fort Nelson to solve the Victorian mystery of the missing money between February 11 and 19 – free activity. With family fun events, amazing attractions, and incredible sights it’ll be smooth sailing for the whole family this February half term. Discover Henry VIII’s flagship, the Mary Rose, explore conservation in action at HMS Victory, or take a trip to Gosport to experience life as a submariner on HMS Alliance.
Your Mission: visit the Army Flying Museum between Monday 13th and Friday 17th February (10.30am to 1.30pm) for Operation CODE CRACKER family family activities with a focus on secret agents, code breaking and great escapes. Plus, there will be a fun trail available all week to test your investigative skills.
Winchester’s Military Museums have a range of exciting activities going on this half term! From trails to colouring in, arts and crafts such as sword making and creating your own foil tin hearts or garland of tiny hearts sewn onto sari fabric. The site is home to The Royal Hampshire Regiment Museum, The Gurkha Museum, The Royal Green Jackets (Rifles) Museum, Horse Power The Museum of the King’s Royal Hussars, The Rifles Museum and The Adjutant General’s Corps Museum.
