What’s on at Hampshire’s Top Attractions this May half-term!

There is lots going on this May half-term at Hampshire’s Top Attractions, with the restrictions being lifted on indoor attractions and venues from 17th May our attractions have been busy getting lots planned for you all to enjoy throughout the half-term with the little ones and to celebrate being reopen! Don’t miss out… keep reading to find out what you can be getting up to this May in Hampshire!

If you’ve got super sleuths in training, they can dig into the facts about how sound is created in nature in a brand new free live science show, ‘Sound Detective’ at the amazing Winchester Science Centre! Don’t miss the magic of the UK’s largest standalone Planetarium, nature activities in the indoor/outdoor Bio:Space zone and the brand new interactive sound and hearing exhibition. This is a fun-filled, thrilling day for the whole family, combining education with excitement and fun!

Thomas & Friends returns to The Watercress Line this May half-term. Take a train ride with Thomas, laugh along with Sodor Station Sweepers Rusty & Dusty in their Live Shows new for 2021, meet The Fat Controller and enjoy vintage fairground rides! What more could a Thomas the Tank Engine fan want? Be sure to book as advanced booking is essential.

Tired of screens and looking for a sense of adventure? Get out in the fresh air and explore the great outdoors this May half-term at New Forest Activities on a guided canoe tour of the picturesque Beaulieu River, perfect for the whole family. Gather the gang for a 90-minute session of pure fun! 

Visit Paultons Park this May Half-Term and enjoy endless fun for the whole family! NEW FOR 2021 is Tornado Springs, a storm-ravaged themed land with 8 new rides and experiences including a spinning rollercoaster and an all-new driving school. Tickets are selling fast so make sure you book soon!

Milestones living history museum is reopening this half- term for a great day out with the family! Head down to the museum to see the old favourites like their vintage vehicles, the old-fashioned sweet shop, and café! Better yet, you can visit the all-new Mr Simpson’s Teddy Bear Museum, an exciting day out!

The amazing Butser Ancient Farm is once again joining Chichester Roman week this May half-term, showcasing what life would have been like in a countryside Roman Villa! DING DING!  It’s DINOS vs Cowboys at Blackgang Chine Land of Imagination this half-term they will see some of their most-loved characters go head-to-head in the ultimate popularity battle! Rootin’ tootin’ Cowboys will take on the roarsome dinosaurs with a full program of entertainment from 31st May – 4th June. 

The Brickworks Museum is heading back to 1918 this half-term with a free, pre-booked open day exploring life at the ‘works in the First World War. Full details will be released on the Brickworks’ website and social media nearer the time. This event has been funded by the NLHF.

Have you ever done a Text Quest before? A Text Quest makes a great day out for families. Get challenges, questions and clues sent to your phone to work out and make your way around the city doing some sightseeing on the journey! Everyone enjoys the challenge and the bonus for parents is that the kids get exercise without realising it!

The sky’s the limit as magnificent hot air balloons float back into Robin Hill this May half-term for a three-day extravaganza event Sky High Night Glow! You’ll have the chance to marvel at the balloons and soak up the atmosphere with a full programme of live music 5pm – 10pm, 29th – 31st May. 

Come and join the national “Love Your Zoo” week at New Forest Wildlife Park during half-term.  The Park is actively working with many endangered species to help ensure they have a future on the planet. Supporting the wildlife park helps support them through our conservation programmes.  Family quiz trails all week!

Take a walk on the wild side at the Army Flying Museum this Summer Half Term and discover some aircraft named after animals around the Museum. Pick your favourite and create a colourful bookmark to take home with you.
