Craving Adventure this May Half Term? Go Ape at Itchen Valley has something for everyone (above 1m tall). Days out at Go Ape are about living life adventurously, having fun with friends and family and getting in touch with your inner Tarzan (he’s in there, promise).

Visit Paultons Park this May half term and enjoy a great value family day out with over 70 wonderful rides and attractions including big rides, small rides, play areas, entertainments and a collection of exotic birds and animals all set within 140 acres of the beautiful New Forest National Park.

Wild West Week at Blackgang Chine from the 25th May – 2nd June, 10am – 5pm. Yeeeehaaww! Wild West Week is returning to Buffalo Creek this May half term! Immerse yourself in the world of outlaws and sheriffs as they take over Cowboy Town! Prepare for a rootin’ tootin’ good time with entertainment for all ages including the return of the rodeo with the Bucking Bronco and Wild West Dance Workshops. Bring your young cowboys and cowgirls to don their hats, test their shooting and take centre stage in their own Wild West story! 

Train to become a secret agent at Beaulieu this May half-term. Complete cunning challenges to follow in the footsteps of the World War II agents of the Special Operations Executive. Receive a real-life agent name for your training mission, then make contact with your Commanding Officer to begin your espionage education.

Marwell Zoo welcomes the world exclusive exhibition of BRICKOSAURS! Highlights include the largest touring LEGO® brick dinosaur model ever made – a whopping eight-metre T. rex. Grab the perfect photo opportunity inside the 3D Meglosaurus; create a masterpiece in the ‘brick pits’; and track all the sculptures with the BRICKOSAURS! trail!

Uncover the secrets of the crew of the Mary Rose this May as they unveil The Many Faces of Tudor England, a new exhibition for 2019. Using the latest scientific research, visitors can discover if the crew were all local men, or came from further afield!

The Watercress Festival is nationally acclaimed and draws together the local community and food lovers from further afield for a FREE day of food and fun, celebrating Alresford watercress on Saturday 19th May! The Watercress Line is operating a FREE ride to and from Ropley and Alresford stations for festival goers.

Discover the sensational stories and wonderful features of Portsmouth Harbour and get creative with inspiration from Spinnaker Tower’s spectacular view! Listen to talks and join fun, interactive workshops led by inspirational people on our doorstep. Grab your ‘Catch me at the Harbour’ trail and solve the clues whilst you explore.

Chawton House stopped being a family home in the 1980s but the grounds are still home to a unique array of flora and fauna. Become an intrepid explorer this May half term and see which species you can find. Come along to the house and ask for an Explorer trail or Art Pack when you purchase a ticket. Free with admission.

Discover Robots and Future Tech at Winchester Science Centre this May half term (daily from 24 May – 3 Jun) and every weekend from 8 – 23 June. Find plenty of hands-on science, a shockingly good live science show demonstrating electricity and future tech, and a chance to design, build and compete in the ultimate robot wars challenge in the Invention Studio. Admission: £13.20 per person (with donation). Planetarium tickets sold separately.

Drop in to the New Forest Heritage Centre in Lyndhurst on Tuesday and Thursday for our Family Discovery days.  The kids can do exciting craft activities, quizzes and museum trails. Museum entry is free, craft activities by donation.  10am to 4pm.

Head to New Forest Activities in Beaulieu, and choose from one of their exciting adventure day packages! Explore The New Forest by boat and bike on a Family Adventure Day. Includes a 90-minute canoeing tour on the Beaulieu River and a full day’s bike hire. Or adventure in the forest on a Woodland Adventure Day, jam-packed with woodland activities including Bushcraft, Archery and High Rope challenges on their treetop playground. Or why not drop the kids off on a Holiday Adventure Day instead? Same woodland activities but just for the kids – blowing school holiday clubs out of the water!

Treat your family this half-term to a full day out at the award-winning Hawk Conservancy Trust where children can take part in the brand new activity trail and the whole family can ‘Meet the Burrowers’ in all new immersive aviary. Nowhere else can you get so close to these cute and curious creatures as part of a full day immersed in nature! 

It’s time to step up and protect our planet, come along to the New Forest Wildlife Park this May Half Term to find out how you can be a Wildlife Warrior. There will be a quiz, craft activities and extra animal encounters throughout the week.

For half-term at Nuffield Southampton Theatres Campus, see We’re Going on a Bear Hunt live on stage from 28 May-2 June. Expect catchy songs, plenty of adventure and a few surprises along the way. 

Sky High at Robin Hill from 27th – 30th May, 10am – 10pm. The sky’s the limit at Robin Hill’s brand-new soaring event, Sky High. Marvel at the sight of over 40 hot air balloons of all shapes and sizes. You’ll have the opportunity to meet the pilots, walk inside the balloons and possibly even win the chance to take flight*! In addition, there’s kite making and flying workshops for the kids!  

Milkshake Monkey is determined to put on a musical, so spectacular, it will keep the theatre open forever! This won’t be easy, so he’ll need the help of his Milkshake! friends. Working together, Milkshake! Monkey soon learns that with great friends anything is possible. Join Milkshake Monkey and friends for their biggest and best live show ever at The Mayflower Theatre 25th May.

Monday 27th – Friday 31st May – Second World War themed half term activities that let children take part in an air-raid drill, discover how to disable and tank and join the Home Guard at Fort Nelson Museum. Explore this amazing fort with its tunnels, ramparts and over 350 big guns. Admission is free.

Gilbert White & The Oates Collections present their annual Nature Festival on the 26th May, a fun packed 24hrs of nature activities for naturalists young and old.

The Brickworks Museum’s Wicked Wednesday Workshops will be back for half term as always. You enjoy the making and let us do the clearing up! Details can be found on their Facebook page.
