Easter Activities in Hampshire

Hop on over to Winchester Science Centre for the return of Boom & Bloom. Solve the puzzles, find out the difference between rabbits and hares and earn an Easter treat in the Eggs-travaganza Easter Hunt. Then discover the science of bubbles in the fun-filled 20-minute live show, Bubble Trouble.

Visit Paultons Park this Easter and be enchanted by their “Hoppy Easter” event running from 29th March to 14th April! Guaranteed to put a spring in your step, guests will be able to meet Bobtail and Betty Bunny for Easter cuddles! Plus there will be giant, colourful Easter Eggs and Bunnies decorating the entrance. 

Meet the Easter Bunny at the Watercress Line this Easter bank holiday. Enjoy unlimited travel along the line and Easter-themed sing-a-longs with the Easter Bunny’s helpers on board a steam train, Easter egg spotter trail and themed craft activities. Meet the Easter Bunny and receive a chocolate treat. 

Go time-travelling this April! Meet a Saxon warband and watch them fight to the death, or get hands-on with ancient crafts and digging for archaeology at Butser Ancient Farm. Dogs welcome!

Enjoy egg-citing family fun at the Army Flying Museum this Easter holidays, including an Easter egg hunt, trails, model making, farm animals, craft activities and the chance to take a virtual tour around an Apache helicopter with VR headsets. Head To SeaCity Museum on 13th and 14th April and enjoy the free build room for creative LEGO builders, Join in the excitement of the brick built ‘Robot Battles’ and search for clues to anagram trail throughout the museum. 

Join the Hovercraft Easter Showcase Experience at Hovertravel Southsea 1:15pm on Thursday 4th April. Take part in the Easter eggtravaganza quiz and decorate your own coaster made from recycled hovercraft skirt. Hop onboard and experience a unique 20 minute hovercraft flight demonstration. Meet the Pilots and Crew who fly across the Solent and learn how these wonderful machines work.

Embark on an egg-citing Easter adventure at Riverside Bowl this Spring. Dive into a thrilling game of bowling, glo-golf, augmented-reality darts, and shuffleboard fun. Why not try their Easter-themed milkshake on your visit, adding a sweet touch to your memorable Easter celebration? Riverside Bowl promises an egg-cellent time for all! 

Try New Forest Activities Easter Archery Tournament. Join in the fun with cracking Easter-themed Archery games and see if you can be top archer and win the big chocolate Easter egg!

Young audiences are in for a treat this Easter at Theatre Royal Winchester with two adaptations of Julia Donaldson classics featuring puppets and songs. Charlie Cook’s Favourite Book from Tuesday 02 – Wednesday 03 April is about a boy who loves books about pirates and tries to convince his sister that reading is fun! The Singing Mermaid is tempted to join a travelling circus but is tricked by a dastardly circus master – from Saturday 13 – Sunday 14 April. While Rod Campbell’s distinctive illustrations leap from page to stage in Dear Zoo from Saturday 06 – Sunday 07 April, which sees Ben and Sally write to the zoo to ask for the perfect pet but what will they be sent?

Experience all the fun of a spring fete with an energetic Easter trail at Mottisfont, 23 March – 14 April. There’s welly wanging, bunny bowling, and a craft activity to make and take home, plus a spring-themed selfie station, too. £3 per trail, including a dairy or vegan/Free-from chocolate egg.

Join Birdworld this Easter with The Bower Bird Scavenger Hunt – a day filled with fun as kids dive into the irresistible tale of Bert, a small bird with a very big heart, brought to life by the storytelling of Julia Donaldson. With the help of The Bower Bird entry card search for character posters with bright-coloured eggs hidden around Birdworld. As children find letters from each poster and unravel the mystery word, they’ll earn stickers, a certificate, and even a small chocolate treat!

Step into Spring with New Forest Wildlife Park and try an Easter trail with a difference! Did you know that otters love playing with pebbles? So this Easter we are ditching the egg hunt and replacing it with a Pebble Trail! When you visit you might be lucky to see one of the new endangered giant otter cubs popping up to say hello. With Easter weekend crafts too.

Channel your inner detective at Marwell Zoo this Easter and take part in Marwell’s Det-egg-tive Trail to help find the cheeky egg thief. Meet the Easter Bunny at Marwell Hall over the Easter weekend. Plus, there will be lots of fun additional activities and competitions.

Visitors to Fort Nelson can play free Bunny Bingo this Easter – 29 March – 14 April. Trail boards with pictures of Easter Eggs have been hidden around the Victorian fort. Get a full house on the bingo card to collect a special badge. Admission tickets must be booked in advance to guarantee entry.

Enjoy two Egg Trails this Easter holiday at the Watercress Line. Spot the eggs around the railway and fill in your free trail sheet. Let off some steam at the locomotive playground! Enjoy unlimited travel along the line, relax with some delicious food in the West Country Buffet and more.

Visit Royal Victoria Country Park for an Easter egg hunt trail and follow the self-guided trail around the Park. Hunt for Easter eggs along the way and collect the clues to solve the quiz.  Don’t forget to return to the shop to collect your prize!

Ready. Steady. ROLLL! Take on the Big Butser Egg Roll Trail at Queen Elizabeth Country Park. Find all the signs of spring to lead you to the bottom of Butser Hill. Give your rubber egg a good throw and see how far it rolls! Each pack includes a springtime craft to take home. 

Join New Forest Activities for their popular Canoe Easter Egg Hunt, which is a fun-filled paddle along the Beaulieu River before disembarking for an Easter Egg Hunt with a twist!

Fans of adventure and exploring the world will enjoy Kendal Mountain Tour 2024 at Theatre Royal Winchester on Thursday 04 April. An evening of award-winning films showcasing the world’s most breathtaking landscapes and the year’s most daring feats of courage and tales of human resilience. Alternatively, mums of fans of the storybook characters, Charlie and Lola and Clarice Bean may like to come to a talk by their award-winning creator – author and illustrator, Lauren Child (as part of Winchester Books Festival) – at the theatre on Saturday 20 April.
