Special summer events

Get set for an action-packed family adventure at Winchester Science Centre. Experience ‘electrifying’ experiments in a brand new free live science show, Sparks. Take part in exciting activities inspired by the new Disney and Pixar movie, Lightyear. Be wowed by two spectacular Planetarium shows. Head outside for nature discoveries and enjoy immersive hands-on science fun. 21st July – 11th September.

Favourite daredevil scientists, Brainiac, are back at Robin Hill for a Summer Extravaganza!  with a brand-new Remixed show every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this Summer! New for 2022, world-renowned illusionist, Sean Alexander, will amaze the crowds with an array of mind-blowing magic that defies the laws of logic every Tuesday & Thursday throughout the holidays!  

Calling all superheroes, head over to Manor Farm’s activity trail to become a Super Farm Superhero from 20th July – 4th September! A great day out to add to your list of things to do in Hampshire summer holidays!

Blackgang Chine

Spend summer holidays in Hampshire & Isle of Wight and head over to the island to experience summer like no other at Blackgang Chine’s Summer of Fun! Discover little artists, activists, sports stars and scientists in the house and grounds from Saturday 23 July – Sunday 4 September in the Little People, BIG DREAMS picture book biography series exhibition and trail at Mottisfont.

Whitchurch Silk Mill is running their free with admission kids crafting Make & Take sessions on 29th July, 10th & 23rd August. Running alongside weaver Rezia Wahid’s exhibition at the Mill will be a family weaving workshop on 18th August, run by the artist (book in advance).

You’ll find plenty going on at The Watercress Line over the Summer Holidays, including family fun and a train load of excitement at Day Out With Thomas (6-14th August) and a nostalgic step back in time at the 50s & 60s Weekend over the August Bank Holiday weekend (27-29th August). 

Explore Marwell Zoo’s 140-acre walking safari while spotting exotic animals and brick dinosaurs! Why not upgrade and enjoy your own private safari-style tent for the day?
