About The Theatre Royal Winchester
Theatre Royal Winchester is an intimate and beautiful Edwardian-style theatre in the city centre. It is the only surviving cine-variety theatre in the country.
Theatre Royal Winchester events include a wide range of the best touring drama, stand up comedy, dance, music, talks and cabaret as well as children’s performances, traditional family pantomime and community events. There’s sure to be something for you to enjoy.
Theatre Royal Winchester is run by the arts and education charity Play to the Crowd (Charity no 1077139) who also run Hat Fair – the Outdoor Arts festival and Playmakers – a programme of community engagement and creative learning activities and projects.
Hat Fair Festival is the UK’s longest continually running festival of Outdoor Arts. Over 3 days each summer audiences enjoy around 200 performances throughout Winchester city centre.
