About Text Quest

Text Quest is a fun way of exploring Winchester, Portsmouth and Southampton. Your team will receive a text with directions to a place and a clue to crack. Reply with the right answer, then get the next clue.

There are a variety of quests, from gentle through to fiendish. There are even murder mystery quests in Southampton and Portsmouth! The quests will take you around the lovely waterfronts of these historic cities, while giving you clues to solve a crime!

You can play against other teams and make it a race, or you can amble round together at your own pace and take in the sights.

Our aim is for you to enjoy your quest, especially the exciting ‘Aha’ moments when you solve a clue.

Your team’s time is shown on the leader board, so you get bragging rights if you are fast!

You can play on your own, or with as many teammates as you can round up. But we think the most enjoyable quests are with 2 to 4 people. Clues are sent to up to 4 phones at once.

Quests will have around 20 clues and will take up to 2 hours, depending on the speed of your team. You may take a break and stop the clock at any time during the quest.

Why should I visit?

A safe and healthy way to spend a few hours outside discovering parts of Southampton, Winchester, and Portsmouth.
The whole family can join in, in fact, anyone can take part as long as one player has a mobile phone.
The quests are designed to be enjoyable and fun, plus you’ll discover parts of the city you didn’t know about!
You can make it competitive and try to beat the leaderboard times, or you can relax and take all the time you want.
Once purchased you have 3 months to do your quest, so if the weather changes or something pops up it can be flexible to fit around you.

Once you’ve chosen your quest you’ll receive details on where to start.

Kids activities

Kids will love following the clues and hunting out the answers.
They’ll be outside getting some healthy fresh air and burning off some energy.
It’s a great activity to do with parents and grandparents!
You can stop and take breaks at any time if those little legs get tired.
