Take to the stage this Christmas at Theatre Royal Winchester

August 25, 2021

Play to the Crowd, the charity that runs Theatre Royal Winchester, are looking for supporting cast members for their pantomime, Aladdin.

The creative team are looking for local performers aged 16+ with dance experience – who are also keen on acting and singing – to join the cast this December. This opportunity is ideal for those looking to broaden their performance and industry experience whilst working with established professionals.

The deadline for expressions of interest is Sunday 12 September, with the auditions taking place at Theatre Royal Winchester on Sunday 26 September.

Aladdin runs from Saturday 4 December 2021 to Sunday 2 January 2022. There are 50 performances in the pantomime run – the support team will only be expected to perform in half of these shows on alternating days. Successful applicants need to be available for the rehearsal period in the Autumn.
Aladdin will be brought to the stage by the same creative team behind their hugely successful pantos of recent years – writer, lyricist and director James Barry, (Great British Pantomime Award nominee for Best Script for Dick Whittington); composer, Simon Slater – who together with James were nominated for the Musical Achievement Award for their musical score for Beauty and the Beast, Creative Producer Rachel Fox and choreographer Sam Taylor-Martin.
