NST – Nuffield Southampton Theatres is one of the UK’s leading professional theatre companies based currently at the Nuffield Theatre on the Highfield campus of the University of Southampton. Open all year round this friendly theatre offers bold, innovative and exciting drama, children’s theatre, dance and comedy. Tom Hiddleston, NST Associate Actor said, “Nuffield are making some of the most exciting new theatre in England”. NST won ‘Regional Theatre of the Year’ at The Stage Awards 2015 and the Best Design UK Theatre 2015 for “The Hudsucker Proxy”. ‬

‬‬In Autumn 2017, NST will open a new venue, with a major new production, in Studio 144, Southampton’s new £25M city centre arts complex. This new venue will include a flexible 447 seat main house theatre, a 135 seat studio, screening facilities, rehearsal and workshop spaces. It will transform NST’s ability to show new high quality professional work from local, national and international artists and allow the programme to include dance, film and music. NST will run the new city centre venue alongside its existing theatre on the University of Southampton’s Highfield.

Find us online

By car:

Follow signs for University of Southampton and then Nuffield Theatre. Pay and display parking is available before 5.00pm, however spaces are very limited, particularly during University term-time. There is no other parking available on campus. After 5.00pm and at weekends all university car parks are free. By train:

Fast trains between London and Bournemouth stop at Southampton Airport Parkway and Southampton Central stations. Trains from Portsmouth stop at Southampton Central. There is a local service between Romsey and Totton via Chandlers Ford and Eastleigh.

By bus:

Uni-link: U1, U2 & U6 services from interchange opposite theatre. Theatre tickets can be exchanged on any uni-link bus for a free single journey ticket on day of performance only. Find out more.
