Personal qualities include an ability to work as part of a team, to use initiative and display an interest in and commitment to animal welfare and conservation as well as strong communication skills.

Ian Goodwin, Animal Collection Manager (Hoofstock and Carnivores), said: “We have an exciting position available for an animal keeper to join our small and dedicated team of carnivore keepers who are committed to providing excellent welfare to our amazing and diverse collection of carnivores.

“The ideal candidate would be someone with proven zoo keeping experience, preferably large carnivore experience and the desirable qualities of being a flexible, hard working, conscientious and practical-minded individual who communicates well with others. It is mostly an outdoor job and also involves heavy manual work.”
