Manor Farm

Enjoy a great family day out at Manor Farm.

Meet friendly farm animals as you stroll around our hands-on farmyard, watch the cows being milked and feed the ducks and chickens. Explore the new play tractor, combine harvester and pedal tractor circuit in a brand new outdoor play area.

Discover 100 years of farming heritage with the traditional farmhouse, costumed characters and Victorian school room. Finish with a visit to the country park with its mix of woodland, riverside, open space and farmland. Here you can find family picnic areas, children’s play equipment, BBQs to hire and toilets.

The Café, just outside the entrance to the farm, offers a selection of food and drink from teas and ice creams to hot food. During the summer the Kiosk at Barnfield in the country park is open for ice creams and snacks.

Pay and display car parking is in operation throughout the year.  Please see website for opening times and current charges.

Why should I visit?

    • Historic farm – come and explore the working farm and meet costumed characters who will bring the farm’s history to life.
    • Meet the animals - Meet baby animals – rabbits, chicks, ducklings, and sometimes other newborns, when they are passed round in a basket to be stroked.
    • Milk the cows - Watch the farmer milk his cows, and even have a go yourself, as you see how milking was done in the early 1900s. Join Manor Farm in the milking shed at 10.30am or 3.30pm daily.
    • Feed chickens - Buy a bag of bird seed from the shop and feed the feathered residents. With hundreds of chickens, ducks, geese and guinea fowl roaming around the farmyard you’re sure to find plenty of hungry beaks to feed.
    • Woodland walks - Explore the fantastic ancient woodland and enjoy all the seasonal changes from bluebells in spring to the fantastic autumn colours. Discover the abundant wildlife from roe deer in the woods to curlews along the river and skylarks in the fields, plus an amazing array of wildflowers, insects and reptiles.
