It’s even been known for people to propose…

Fall in love … and stay that way. Traditionally the Twelfth Anniversary is the silk anniversary which makes this material the most popular gift given to celebrate a 12 years of marriage, visitors can find lots of gifts lovingly made on Whitchurch Silk Mill’s Victorian machinery or celebrate in the Mill’s riverside café where two rivers flow into one.

Take a romantic stroll through the glistening woodlands at Robin Hill’s Festival of Light inspired by Diwali. Catch the epic Electro-Light Circus show in the amphitheatre, followed by a short walk down to the Woodland Ponds where couples can dine underneath the treetops with a choice of authentic foods.

The Royal Victoria Chapel oozes old-world romance, with views across The Solent and an extraordinary heritage. Once the site of the world’s longest military hospital, now only this building remains. Couples can take tea on the elegant seaside lawn, climb its tower, then stroll around the grounds. And the icing on the courtship cake? It’s a wedding venue as well.
