About This Attraction
Situated on the outskirts of Southampton, just off the A27, Itchen Valley Country Park is an ideal destination for a family day out. Its 440 acres of water meadows, grazing pasture, recreational fields and ancient woodland are found either side of the River Itchen.
Why not walk through the woodland, play on the many pieces of play equipment, visit Go Ape, take part in Forest School activities or attend one of our many workshops. There is also an off-road cycle trail and a busy program of events throughout the year.
After all that exercise you can then settle down for a meal in our newly refurbished Woodland Café (with your dog) where there is a choice of meals suitable for most dietary requirements. Most of the produce is locally sourced from independent suppliers. There is also a stunning, themed indoor play area for children aged 6 and under – ideal for those wet days. If your four legged friend loves nothing more than to run through muddy puddles, fear not! You can clean them up in the dog wash located to the side of the Kingfisher Barn toilets.
The Park has two permanent barbecues behind the Woodland Cafe and a small conference room available to hire for family events. Our onsite café can provide a variety of buffet options if required, both for those hiring the Kingfisher Room or for party groups on Go Ape or Forest School.
We are open 7 days per week (excluding Christmas and New Year) so why not pop along?
