Talk: Jane Austen and the Pleasures of Spring

Celebrate the coming of spring! As the pretty cottage garden at Jane Austen’s House bursts into bloom, bluebells carpet the Chawton woods and the sunshine returns after a long winter, you’re invited to an hour of springtime revelry!

This talk will travel across Jane Austen’s novels, letters and life story, covering everything from spring fashions, country walks and the Hampshire countryside, to springtime in Jane Austen’s novels and themes of hope and renewal.

This event is part of the Spring Fling! festival running from 1 – 4 May 2026 at Jane Austen’s House.
