Enjoy the sights, sounds and science of Christmas past…way past.
Dino rangers have sprinkled prehistoric cheer around the Science Centre ready for a Jurassic adventure. On weekends and school holidays between Saturday 27 November to Sunday 16 January get set to enjoy a roar-cus festive season filled with T-riffic fun, dino-mite demos and a special guest appearance from Santa himself. And there’s not just prehistoric activities to get involved in, there’ll also be two live Planetarium shows, huge live science demos and awesome interactive exhibits to excite and inspire all ages.
In the free Science Theatre Science Dino-mite show, our friendly dino rangers need help from some budding dinosaur investigators to explore the differences between the many types of dinosaurs that once roamed the Earth. This roar-some interactive show will involve lots of audience participation as a brand new species of dinosaur evolves right before your very eyes. There will also be roar-some dino-mite experiments that will have you on the edge of your seat.
And, as its Christmas, Santa will be swapping his red coat for a lab coat once again. Between 4 and 23 December he’ll be helping to delve into the mysteries of Christmas in the prehistoric era.
Mini paleontologists can join their archaeological excavation team on the hunt for buried bones in Dino Dig. And in the mini Fossil Festival families can touch and hold real and replica dinosaur teeth and claws that have been fossilised millions of years ago. Dino investigators will be able to get an insight into how these incredible creatures evolved and lived, including some that would have even called the South of England their home. There’ll also be special guests throughout the festive period including real-life paleontologists and experts from across the field.
