Open Farm Sunday at the Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary

Did you know our sanctuary is also a working farm? Our donkeys graze paddocks that are carefully cared for every day of the year by our dedicated land management team.

For Open Farm Sunday 2026, we’re inviting you behind the scenes all weekend to discover more about the farming side of sanctuary life. Throughout the weekend, you can explore a display of our farm machinery in the yard — from tractors and poo pickers to other essential bits of kit that help us care for the land.

Our Land Manager, Nick, will be available to explain how the machinery is used, and share insights into looking after the sanctuary’s fields and paddocks.

What’s on:

• Farm machinery display in the yard all weekend
• Guided tours across the weekend, ending at the machinery display
• Free ‘Spot the Tractor’ trail for younger visitors
• Live music in the courtyard
• Café and shop

Entry and parking are free, though donations are always appreciated and help us to care for our animals.
