Don’t just study history — experience it! Discover the past for yourself and get hands on with a special day of fun and educational activities bringing history to life. Led by a dedicated member of our education team, you’ll be immersed in history as you get involved in four hands-on activities, explore our ancient buildings, and discover everyday life in the Stone Age, Bronze Age, Iron Age, Roman, and Saxon periods..

Perfect for curious kids interested in history, home-ed families, and folks who want a unique time-travelling experience, this is an incredible way to bring to life a period in history that’s hard for kids to imagine — and can be hard to teach, too!

Activities include digging in our archaeology pits, carving ancient designs into chalk, making ancient pottery, and designing a Roman mosaic!

Please note that all under-18s must be accompanied by an adult (event ticket required). The event will run with teaching groups of up to 35 (includes adults).
