Spring is the perfect time to visit the Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary. The paddocks are buzzing with life, the sun is (fingers crossed!) shining, and we have some exciting new faces to meet — say hello to Lucy, Tilly, and Sunny Pony!

We’re open from 10am–4.30pm, 7 days a week from Saturday 28 March. Our café is also open, serving food and drinks until 4.30pm (last hot food orders at 4pm).

Easter activities (28 March – 12 April)

  • Free Easter Egg Trail — pick up a trail card on arrival, hunt down the hidden eggs, and claim your sweet reward at the café!
  • Decorate an Egg Competition — can you make your egg look like a donkey? The winner receives a donkey adoption of their choice. Bring your creation (boiled or blown eggs only, please) to the Welcome Hub.
  • Free Easter colouring in the café for younger visitors.

Explore & experience

  • Free daily guided tour at 11.30am — go behind the scenes of sanctuary life. Book online to guarantee your spot (tours last ~45 minutes).
  • Springtime walks — stroll through our wildlife meadow and soak up the season. Grab a picnic from the café or bring your own.
  • Donkey Experience — a two-hour small-group session with our team: feed, groom, walk, and yes… a little poo picking! Book online.

While you’re here Treat yourself to Afternoon Tea, browse our shop for Easter gifts and souvenirs, or adopt one of our wonderful donkeys, ponies, mules, or horses — at the Adoption Hub or online.
