Tudor England - Brick by Brick
The Mary Rose
This summer, help us to create a LEGO® brick recreation of Portsmouth as it was in July 1545!
In May we gave visitors the chance to help recreate a portrait of Henry VIII. This time, we’re going even bigger, and recreating the colourful Cowdray Engraving, a giant picture showing Tudor Portsmouth on the day the Mary Rose sank, as a LEGO brick mosaic! The completed mosaic will be over 12 metres wide, making it one of the largest ever made in the UK!
Will you make part of the Isle of Wight, one of the French or English ships, or one of the troops stationed in Portsmouth? You might even get to make the masts of the Mary Rose as they protrude from the water’s surface?
In partnership with Bright Bricks, the UK’s only LEGO Certified Professional building company, we’re inviting everyone, young and old, to participate in reconstructing this iconic image!
You’ll even get the chance to make your own LEGO brick mini-model, designed by Bright Bricks for you to take home!
