Comedian Richard Herring returns to Theatre Royal Winchester with his award-winning Leicester Square Theatre Podcast tour on Friday 15 September.
This critically-acclaimed interview podcast, normally recorded at the Leicester Square Theatre in London’s West End, and abbreviated to RHLSTP, is back on tour, giving comedy audiences and listeners the chance to watch Herring as he interviews top comedians live – plus catch conversation too controversial for broadcast! Previous guests to his show have included Stephen Fry, Michael Palin, Katherine Ryan and Grayson Perry to name a few.
For this evening’s podcast, Herring will be joined by guests Harriet Kemsley – an award-winning comedian, writer and actress with appearances on 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, Doctor Foster (BBC) and Jo Brand’s Damned (Channel 4); and comedian, actor, writer and director Matt Green who has performed countless times at the Edinburgh Fringe and Camden Fringe festivals, enjoyed innumerable acting roles on TV, radio and in ads since 2001, and hosted many corporate and award events.
Herring, now a well-known writer and performer who has also won a multitude of TV gameshows such as Taskmaster, Pointless Celebrities and Tipping Point, has been dubbed an innovator in the podcasting world. Called the ‘Podfather’ (Guardian) and the ‘UK’s online comedy pioneer’ (The Times), his podcast receives one million downloads per month; is itself an award-winner; and the only non-BBC show to ever win a Sony Best Comedy Award.
Richard Herring has returned to Theatre Royal Winchester in recent years but one of his first tour gigs was at the theatre in a student revue in 1987.
Richard Herring’s Leicester Square Theatre Podcast will be at Theatre Royal Winchester on Friday 15 September at 7.30pm. For more information or to book tickets visit theatreroyalwinchester.co.uk or call 01962 840 440.
