Aquarium in Portsmouth
The oceans of the world are closer than you think. Blue Reef Aquarium brings sea creatures from the five oceans together in one place with over 40 living displays of aquatic creatures great and small.
Situated on Clarence Esplanade in Portsmouth, between the two piers overlooking the busy Solent, Blue Reef Aquarium is home to an incredible array of creatures from the deep. From ferocious sharks to adorable otters, stingrays to seahorses, it’s the ultimate undersea safari!
The aquarium’s flagship attraction is their Sea of Cortez Tunnel tank, which offers the chance to see puffer fish, triggerfish and hundreds (yes, hundreds!) of tropical fish in all the colours of the rainbow. It’s your chance to step into the beautiful Gulf of California and explore the Pacific Ocean and the secrets that hide in its coral reef.
Or, for a sight closer to home, the aquarium’s Solent Seas exhibition shows some of the local aquatic life from the Solent Coast. Whether you want to explore Solent Seas, Tropical Treasures or Freshwater Fun there’s plenty to see and do.
Open every day except Christmas Day from 10am-5pm with last Admission at 4pm.
