Audiences of all generations will enjoy this irreverent take on Shakespeare’s fun romantic classic, Much Ado About Nothing, which comes to Theatre Royal Winchester on Thursday 20 July.
Set in the luscious gardens of an Italian villa in summer, a respected prince turns cupid for his friends. But lurking in the shadows is a younger prince – his brother – who bears a grudge and is keen to rain on everyone’s parade.
With drama and deception, songs and silliness suitable for the whole family, Much Ado About Nothing is brought to life by Oddsocks Productions – an award-winning family run theatre company known for presenting classic stories in accessible, funny, gently challenging and entertaining ways for over 30 years. It was founded by husband and wife Andy Barrow and Elli Mackenzie who appear as Benedick and Beatrice in the show.
Oddsocks’ recent productions include other popular Shakespeare plays, Hamlet and The Comedy of Errors, plus takes on Pinocchio and Robin Hood.
Much Ado About Nothing will be at Theatre Royal Winchester on Thursday 20 July at 7.30pm. For more information or to book tickets visit theatreroyalwinchester.co.uk or call 01962 840 440.
