We know you’ll want to make 2018 extra special, creating lots of precious memories and having fun doing so! With so much to do in Hampshire it can be tricky to know what to do first, so we’ve narrowed it down to our top 10 attractions to have on your bucket list, with special events and exciting additions to see and do in 2018!

  1. Paultons Park has two amazing new attractions for 2018! February Half Term sees the opening of Little Africa, the Park’s own little corner of Africa. On May 16th, the Peppa themed fun continues as a large new expansion welcomes two exciting new rides! Find out more here…
  2. Winchester Cathedral is one of Europe’s finest medieval Cathedrals, just waiting to be discovered! Get hands on with history at the Stonemason Festival from 15-17 June 2018 and be captivated by stunning floral displays when you visit Illumination: A Festival of Flowers from 5-9 September 2018! Find out more here…
  3. Marwell Zoo’s biggest ever exhibit, a new Tropical House, is opening Easter 2018. The £7.8m exhibit will span two levels offering fantastic vantage points across a lush, tropical canopy, home to dozens of new, colourful and charismatic species. Find out more here…
  4. The iconic viewing tower in Portsmouth – Emirates Spinnaker Tower, will introduce a new adrenalin activity for secondary school age children. Following the success of abseiling days for adults, the new activity will let children experience the Tower from a whole new perspective. Find out more here…
  5. From 10 February 2018, adventurers can pick up a trail sheet from Visitor Reception at The Vyne and search the gardens for boxes containing jigsaw pieces. After taking one piece from each box, the jigsaw fits together to reveal a tapestry!
  6. In 2018, Chawton House Library will be celebrating 200 years since the publication of two very different takes on the Gothic trend that had seized Europe in the 1790s: Jane Austen’s mock-Gothic Northanger Abbey and Mary Shelley’s prophetic science fiction Frankenstein. You will get a taste for the ghoulish side of the library, as they reveal the blood-stained daggers, midnight assassins, Arctic wastelands and unspeakable creatures conjured by the pages of our collection. Find out more here…
  7. Blackgang Chine on the Isle of Wight, the oldest theme park in the UK, will celebrate its 175th anniversary in 2018. Visitors can expect a whirlwind of adventure throughout the season as the story of Blackgang Chine and the Curios Timeboat unfolds. Find out more here…
  8. Mottisfont hosts a family-friendly exhibition and themed activity trail every summer. In 2018, the National Trust property will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the much-loved classic by Judith Kerr, The Tiger Who Came to Tea. Find out more here…
  9. The team at Exciting Escapes have big plans for 2018. There will be several new experiences, starting in January in Southampton with ‘Spies in Space’.
