Come and enjoy a memorable family day out at the Mid Hants Railway 'Watercress Line'. Your ticket allows you freedom to travel all dayon trains pulled by steam locomotive or heritage diesel, between Alresford and Alton stations.

There are a variety of things to see and do for all the family. Take a stroll around the outside of the engineering yard at Ropley station and see the large locomotives and carriages being refurbished  by enthusiastic volunteers and paid staff. 

At Ropley station you can also see the interpretive display of a 1950's Station Master's lounge and the new wheel -drop shed. The Old Goods Shed at Alresford station houses an interpretive display of the 'Goods Shed' which can be found inside the gift shop.

There are lots of special events to enjoy throughout the year for all the family, such as 'Day out with Thomas' at Easter and August,  Bus Rally (July), Steam Galas, Wizard Week (Oct), Santa Specials (Dec) and lots more, please see our website for more information.

Refreshments, play area (Ropley), picnic areas (Alresford and Ropley)  and gift shops available on site.

During your visit you can also walk into the picturesque  towns of Alresford and Alton which have a variety of independent and high street shops, pubs and cafes.
